Haunted Woodbridge is our longest running event, celebrating 16 years this October! Brought to you by the Woodbridge Recreation Department. This year the theme of the tour is " Something old & Something new!" Ticket proceeds will go towards a new ARTS scholarship fund for Woodbridge high school Senior students.
The Woodbridge Ghost Walk, conceived by creative thinker Jane McLaughlin, was launched in 2008 as a prototype for historical entertainment. These ghost walks transport you back in time, commemorating legendary figures from local communities. Jane has coined the phrase, “HHP makes learning about history fun!” From the moment you arrive at a walk location, you're greeted by the Halloween spirit and guided to the correct line to await your Ghost Walk experience. Each walk lasts approximately fifty-five minutes, during which you'll hear around eight different stories narrated by the "ghosts" themselves—spirits who, whether famous or infamous, have left a significant mark on the town. Jane skillfully blends historical facts about notable figures with legends that, over time, have become ingrained in local lore. “It’s like watching a soap opera of the afterworld,” she explains. Having been held in Woodbridge for over a decade, the Ghost Walk has allowed Jane to witness the growth of attendees—children once in strollers now return as teenagers. When you attend an HHP production, don't expect high school students wielding chainsaws. Instead, anticipate an experience that's both entertaining and historically enriching, with just the right touch of spooky fall ambiance.
